Sage Timberline OfficeAccountant John DeFazio of Australian developer Pellicano Builders evaluated a lot of accounting software over a one-year period to replace the company’s manual cashbook system. He finally chose Sage Timberline Office because it could handle all his concerns, including Australia’s GST.
“There were lots of other products on the market, but none of them had the full interface integration as Sage Timberline Office did,” DeFazio said. “For example, some products would have had a good job cost system, but they had no interface with payroll. With others, you had to turn to third-party software to handle things like estimating. Sage Timberline Office had the complete package.”

Sage Timberline OfficeAustralia-based Georgiou Group was less than pleased with its accounting software because it didn’t have a job cost module, and it couldn’t capture anything but basic gross margin items.
So when Finance and Administration Manager John Siamos looked at the accounting software on the market, he quickly settled on Sage Timberline Office as offering everything the civil construction company needed. Two years later, he’s still happy with the decision and realizes how much he missed out now that he can get work-in-progress calculations and not “force” costs into overhead.
“It’s been a culture change for us. It’s so fantastic we still talk about how much it’s added to our ability to forecast, perform, have budgets, and use report design; all areas have benefited. It’s brilliant,” Siamos says.
